Update re access to obesity management medications
Access to obesity management medications in Suffolk and north east Essex is only available via the Weight Management and Complex Obesity Service (WMCOS). GPs in Suffolk and north east Essex cannot yet refer new patients into this service as it is currently working through existing waiting lists. For this reason, please do not book an appointment or call the practice to request Mounjaro® or any other obesity management medications.

Weight loss Injections 2025
You may have heard reports on the news today that from now GPs will be able to prescribe weight loss injections on the NHS.
This is area-specific and NOT currently applicable to North East Essex hence we CANNOT prescribe weight loss injections.
The Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board (SNEE ICB) has commissioned a new Weight Management and Complex Obesity Service (WMCOS), which is one of the nationally-approved delivery models for this specialist service. It is expected to roll out its services in a phased approach to the locality throughout the year and will be available to a select number of patients who meet the strict clinical criteria being set out by the ICB.
As this service is not yet open to new referrals from GPs, please do not contact the surgery requesting this.
